Technical Assistance for Developing Qualification Packs (QP) under “India: Skills for Jobs”

About the Client

The Department for International Development (DFID) is funding a skill development programme titled “India: Skills for Jobs” for which the key partner is National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC). Wazir Advisors was engaged by the programme management agency to provide technical assistance to develop Qualification Packs (QPs) for handloom sector under this programme.

Project Objectives

The main objective of the assignment was to provide programme management support in the form of technical inputs to develop QPs and get them validated by relevant stakeholders. The scope of work for this assignment included:

  1. Providing technical input on identified job roles on occupational standards
  2. Providing support in development of National Occupational Standards (NOS) and QPs
  3. Providing support during industry consultation workshops for validation of developed QPs
  4. Providing support on Qualifications Registration Committee (QRC) process of NSDC
Deliverables
  1. The project is currently under progress. So far 4 QPs have been successfully developed, vetted by industry stakeholders and approved by QRC
